• cramping

Causes

• heredity
• low-fiber diet

Treatment

• bed rest
• antibiodics
• pain reliever
• liqiud diet
• surgery

Surgery invovles removing the diseased part of the colon.
Foods to eat

• high-fiber foods
• whole grain breads and cereals
• fruits except for berries of any kind and dried friuts
• vegetables are good
• broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and cabbage are bad
• avoid all nuts and seeds

This is a diagram of diverticulitis. It shows bleeding on the internal part of the colon.
Also it shows some diverticula, one is inflamed. Before you get the progressed form
a more mild form occurs and it can be treated with a simple change in diet. If not
changed the the advanced form could take effect and a change in diet won't usually
help. Surgery is needed to completely sove the problem.
